How do I take a Virtual Cultural Awareness Training (VCAT) course and who may enroll?

Members of the U.S. Military must visit and register at Joint Knowledge Online (JKO) to enroll in VCAT courses. You must possess the appropriate U.S. Military credentials to register on JKO. You need not register on the Alelo DOD Support website to access courses on JKO.

VCAT courses are currently available for the following regions:

Afghanistan
Northern Africa
Horn of Africa
West Africa
South America
Central America
Hispaniola
Caribbean
Southeast Asia
Taiwan 
Swahili (Operational Language and culture) 

*The following VCAT courses are in development and will be available in 2015:

Arabian Peninsula

 


 

Can I download a VCAT course and train with it off-line?

Yes. But with selected "mobile" version courses (see below). Otherwise, VCAT courses are accessed via the Joint Knowledge Online website at: http://jko.jten.mil/

You need not register on the Alelo DOD Support website to access courses on JKO. However, you will be required to register with JKO using the appropriate U.S. Military credentials.

Please visit, register and inquire at Joint Knowledge Online (JKO) for information on how to access VCAT courses for mobile devices.

 

VCAT courses for mobile devices are currently available for the following regions:

South America
Central America
Hispaniola
Swahili (Operational Language and culture)
